cool Runtime / Point generated / Results returned: what is the logic

I'm part of a team and the statistics show strong variations between the amount of points generated and the results returned. Why would somebody have roughly the same amount of points but double the amount of results ? (while at the same runtime).

Re: Runtime / Point generated / Results returned: what is the logic

smile Hi Jeroen vd M
Due to the fact that the Work Units are not a fixed length and can vary from 2 Hrs to 200 Hrs to process, a member can generate a lot of results from Work Units processed if he gets a lot of short Work Units
Conversly a member may get a number of large Work Units that take longer to process
Ultimately over each 24 hour period, given two identical machines, the points awarded will be the same
WorldCommunityGrid have no way of knowing the length of time a Work Unit will take to complete due to the fact that some Work Units are more complex than others and consequently take longer to process

I hope this puts your concerns to rest

Regards
