Okay.
Firstly, uninstall the UD agent. By the way, the storage figure won't (can't) update until it successfully connects to the server. Now, let's troubleshoot BOINC. It is almost 100% certain that you have a firewall issue. What firewall do you use? Please post the top part of your BOINC message log - we need that to see what the precise problem is. To get your messages, go to the advanced view, click on the "Messages" tab, then click "Copy all messages". Then paste them into a post for us. Thank you. |

Didact, the messages, denada, zilch, zero, diddly squat, nothing. a blank screen.
Firewall, avg, but it was running for the last 2-3 wks, and was authorised. The only blocked message is isass.exe at the moment. What are the allowedf items (if blocked) should I be looking for? One I have is www.spui.nscpcdn.com and another is 13-6-07 16:52:50 Application Hijacking Information Outgoing TCP browser-support.netscape.com [213.200.110.86] 09-00-20-00-09-00 88.108.115.46 00-00-09-00-00-00 C:\Program Files\United Devices\UDm Cache\3\UD.EXE I did nothing to block this and I have tried, unsussessfully, to unblock. And the network is always on. |

Silly question I know............but.........did you uninstall the old United Devices software that you used over at grid.org?
It is confusing me seeing that you have listed the old folder C:\Program Files\United Devices\UDm Cache\3\UD.EXE |

snoekie, you need to go to the Advanced view to see all your messages. In the Simple view, old messages are cleared - that's why it looks blank.
Unless the manager isn't connecting to the core client at all, in which case the advanced view will give a more helpful error message. |

It sounds like it's just an old setting in your firewall. But if the file is there, delete it manually. Delete the entire C:\Program Files\United Devices\ folder.

Didactylos, advanced view screen blank and it says it cannot connect to core client, in red and with a red X!
WCG agent removed, no evidence of UD, although the WCG agent did have the ud logo on it. I tried the advanced view of messages and I still have nothing, a blank screen, not even old ones. Apart from the fact of the time spent, there is nothing suggest that anything has happened. Perhaps uninstal boinc and reload? |
