Hintsala, it appears that your points have increased some since your switch to BOINC. Are things more in line with your expectations now? It looks like your points are running about what mine do.

What with the DCStat problem resolved, I have gone back and finished a minor change to the images to reduce the width slightly. The images in the website page have been updated accordingly.

Rick -- 80 kids camping! Outstanding! Never had a troop that big to work with. About the largest we had was about 30. Sounds like you do have the creature comforts. About the only comfort I had was my own spacious (8X10) tent when the kids were in camp provided tents with wood pallet floors. Spent a good deal of time under canvas those years. At least 2 nites a month on troop campouts (winter months included), a week of summer camp and usually 3 weeks with the family camping on vacation. Worked out to be about 2 months a year camping. I have 4 sons, so I spent about 12 years as a scouter. At one point, all 6 of us in the family were registered with scouting. Don't think I need the motor oil bug juice recipe. I think I had a few gallons of that myself -- LOL. Dave, Thanks for your 12 yrs service helping kids learn and grow, contrary to the hype it's more than an hour per week . The troop actually has 125 registered boys, and at camp we have 80 boys, and 21 adults - so we look like an invading army when we arrive. Still a great time, I've been at various times, an Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, and generally involved for about 25 yrs. I enjoy working with kids, and it's even more fun now that my two are involved. I'm staying out of the 'real' leadership positions, so I can just enjoy my time with the kids. It's a perfect excuse to act like an 11yr old.. We do a great deal of camping, at least 1 weekend per month with the Scouts, and the Pack about the same when the weather is nice. We've another great camp about 20 minutes away that has heated cabins, so we can winter camp with the cubscouts There's something about seeing the light in kids eyes when they're having fun and learning something new that never gets old, and helps keep me young. @ Charles and Big_V........ Youth and speed will lose out to old age and treachery every time Rick |
