I am running WCG as a screensaver only, but it seems whenever I interrupt my machine to do some work, it loses all of the accumulated "task run time" and "task execution progress". It did seem to save the results at 1%. Does the program not save intermediate results if the screensaver only runs for a few minutes?

It's easiest to check this on the graphics screen since it measures this in tenths of a percent. Note that sometimes it may take quite a while for it to progress because it has run into a very difficult fold. If it's running as screensaver only, you may want to let it run overnight if it's run into a difficult fold.

Every time the Per Cent Completed jumps up several tenths of a per cent in the Application View, an 'intermediate result' has been stored in the check point work file. However, we did have one member who reported that whenever she turned off her laptop, everything was lost. After some experimenting, her problem was solved only by doing a complete uninstall / reinstall. Apparently something had corrupted her WCG program.
Try Rick Alther's suggestion first. |
