Hi all,
I just installed new OS (winXPhome), and I reinstall the wcg too. But when I tried to max the cpu use with the WCGridMaxCPU tool, it stays on 50% at the taskmanager indicator. Is there something wrong ? Or I just tweak it trough the registry ? If I can, where to ? thx |

Hi sumbangpc,
----------------------------------------50% on a dual core is 100% of 1 core. Now if you get BOINC and you set it to 100% (default 60%), you get 200% plus of the work done compared to the old WCG (UD) agent. Migration is easy, uninstalling of the old agent not even needed.... just take the shortcut link out of the autostart folder and exit, right clicking on the system tray icon depicting the WCG logo. ttyl Sekerob

If you download the official version here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php you get the install options for single user, all user and service.

Hello sumbangpc,
The WCG has a simplified BOINC installation program that does not offer the 'install as a service' option. If you download from the BOINC site ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php ) you can install it as a Windows service. Lawrence |
