I have Windows XP SP2. The system is stable otherwise (virus protected, well maintained...). I narrowed it down to UD agent. I had UD Agent from Grid.org, it did not crash the system.
I am a developer, so can supply some additional info if you require and tell me where to look. It is not annoyeing (I can always disable it), just sad to loose CPU time. Cheers |

I hope that it wasn't installed in the same directory as grid.org UD. The programs are SORT OF the same but DIFFERENT. A few artifacts could have been left behind in the grid.org UD uninstall.I am a developer, so can supply some additional info if you require and tell me where to look. It is not annoyeing (I can always disable it), just sad to loose CPU time. Cheers What about without a screen saver? Mine is set to (none) to send all possible cycles to the work. It shouldn't cause crashing though. Mine works either way. Another thread states that the BOINC screensaver graphics doesn't work well on very old graphics cards. It is being rewritten for BOINC v6.0 anyway. If you have a true dual core computer, installing the BOINC version will crunch two workunits simultaneously, which the UD version will not do. In this case, taking the WCG UD out of the startup would suffice. It can be kept for emergency use. Let's get it working first, though.
