I am writing this from a computer other than the one that's running WCG, because I'm experiencing a nasty problem with the site retaining my sign in status.
On my other computer, I can sign in, and I'm immediately sent to the welcome page. But whenever I try to navigate to any forum, or conduct a search, I am forced into a signed out status. This happens immediately -- it does not result from a long period of inactivity after signing in. What could be causing this? I have third party cookies blocked in IE, but enabling third party cookies does not make a difference. Anybody have an idea what's going on? |

Hmmm.... I don't know... you use Internet Explorer right? Hmmm... sorry, I use Mozilla Firefox, so I can't really make any conclusions here, however, I can say that I never had any problems like that with Firefox, perhaps you should give it a go?

I don't use IE much, but mine does not have the same problem that you are having. I also checked and I could not find a worldcommunitygrid.org cookie, so maybe the login persistence is not handled via cookie?
I don't know about the various authentication options in use in web/app servers anymore, but I hope the site staff can you help figure it out. If you do get it resolved, be sure to let us know what the fix is. |

It seems the problem was caused by a ZoneAlarm privacy setting, though I haven't narrowed it down to the particular control.
I've changed Cookie Control and Ad Blocking to "Off" instead of "Med." I suppose that by a process of elimination, using the Custom settings in ZoneAlarm's Privacy controls, one could find out which control or combination of controls causes the effect on the bulletin board which I experienced, |
