One machine here will do uploads/downloads, but 36 workunits still await BOINC reporting, some from yesterday. Machine has been connected for 2 hours. Project update or retry communications has no effect.

Re: Is there a problem?

retsof, if the transmission tab is empty and only 'Ready to Report' lines sitting in the Tasks tab, it's you just being hooked to 'the other' scheduler that sat on that 4gb, 2 processor machine ;>) Given the hi tech adsl supply the US cable telco companies maintain, best you route your traffic via Europe so IBM can trunk it from Amsterdam to Boulder Co. In short no snafu status observations this side of the ocean down south in the booth of Europe:

Maybe you should consider to start paying that extra for touch tone whistling

Re: Is there a problem?

My current work, Help Cure MD, is going nowhere. For three days, the progress has been steady at 0.2%. I don't see that anyone else has reported a similar problem in the forums.

Re: Is there a problem?

Several have reported this in the HCMD section: Very Long Work Units:
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=13201

If you take it up there, we can discuss further. Do you shut-down the PC every day, how long do you let it run each day and how fast is the CPU?

Re: Is there a problem?

Thanks for the link. I had searched for something like that to no avail. I will be happy to take this conversation to the proper place, but alas I know not how.

In answer to the question though: I do shut down the PC every evening around 2200 CDT and restart it the next morning at 0530. Thus it runs some 16+ hours a day.

If indeed this is the norm for this project, fine. I'm not looking for points, but I don't want something taking up CPU capacity if nothing is happening.

Re: Is there a problem?

If nothing takes up the CPU (ME), the crunching is designed to use 100% of the computer. I just let mine run 24/7 to contribute as much as possible.

Re: Is there a problem?

I didn't want to open a new thread for this, but it seems that the "Team comparison" doesn't work at this time... You enter multiple teams, but when clicking "compare", the page refreshes but no results appear.... ?

(maybe a statistics update-refresh-thingy?)
