Ok - it appears that batch 1593 appears to be causing each computer to return different values in the results in a very specific way (only a few values are varying).
At this point we are going to suspend sending out additional work for FightAIDS@Home. We are also suspending the validation of FightAIDS@Home until we can understand what is going. Once we know more we will post. |

Go to My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profile > Select Profile attached to BOINC client (probably Default) > Select Custom Profile Radio Button > Find "Connect to network about every 0.3 days" (default at WCG). Set to 1.0 or 2.0 days and Save, then do the mentioned Update in the BOINC Project tab (advanced view).
----------------------------------------With that you should get more work in the Tasks buffer.... it will take a little time to take effect!!!!! Sekerob

Hi Baron Samedi
It is in the BOINC profile. Click on My Grid - Device Manager - (current BOINC profile) and then scroll down to Advanced Options - Network Usage and set 'Connect to network about every d.d days to 3.0 or whatever interval you prefer. Lawrence |

Cheers, thank you both for explaining that! I know that option but did not know what it meant exactly. Will make the changes and update.

I hope WCG plans to give credit on all the inconclusive results that people are getting. Some of us have dozens of WU's with inconclusive status.

knreed : ....Ok - it appears that batch 1593 appears to be causing each computer to return different values in the results in a very specific way (only a few values are varying). ... Variation in the results? a) Small discrepancy in the results file that does not affect the actual results and can be fixed from your side, or b) Variation in the actual outcome values which will lead to dumping those results and require a resend latter? I guess the question is: While you guys are figuring out why the variation is occuring, what do you want us to do: a) keep crunching our WU queues knowing that you will deal with the superficial variations and be able to extract what you need, or b) Would you rather that we dump the FAAH WUs now (reset project) and work on something else in the mean time (hfp2, etc...)? One other thing worth checking. I've gotten computational errors on several WU's from the 1593 batch. This has happened on crunchers that almost never produce errors. That's in addition to dozens of results marked as inconclusive.

I have 6 in a row of these FAAH 1593s on one machine. What would be the most helpful thing to do ? Should I process them, suspend them, or abort them ? It is all the same to me.
