BAM is a profile settings manager primarily. It reads the WCG settings, but is not allowed to write to the WCG database. It does not do anything in terms of device progress monitoring. The Advanced View Tasks Tab and the Simple+Advanced View "Messages" are the places where any progress and events are displayed. To set up and attach BAM to the client follow these instructions:

BOINCview (3rd party) does a superior job in actual command passing and logging of events. From a Windows client it can monitor any and as many BOINC client, local or remote. It does not matter what OS the client runs on. BOINCmgr can only do 1 at a time.
