I've done a little searching on this, but haven't found a definitive answer.
I have several results pending. 23, to be exact. Some were reported as far back as May 5th. Is it normal to wait a week (or more) for validations or am I just impatient? BOINC 5.8.15 on Win2k |

It depends.
If you click on the work unit name, you can drill down and find out what is going on. Frequently you will see that one of the copies was never returned, and extra copies had to be sent out. This delays validation, obviously. |

Thanks D
Just me being impatient. Theoretically, if someone ignores a WU, the delay could be 9 days plus however long it takes for a replacement WU to be returned. Still familiarizing myself with all the nuances of this "new" software. Lots of interesting info with this BOINC stuff. |

Gunner I am experiencing the same thing. It takes longer than before to get the WU's validated. A lot of errors and no replys or others just being slow.

Without fail, my PV list grows as work is send back received on the last day of the western work-week and continues to grow until Monday when it gets chopped by either results not returned from e.g. office machines doing weekend crunching off-line, or resume on machines that get fired up after a weekend break.
----------------------------------------What a higher rate of error on BOINC is caused by at this time, I dont know. Rarely see one in a quorum, mostly in HPF2. That project has 19 Unique copies in a quorum, hence a 6 times higher chance of some device having an incident.

You bring up a good point, Sek.
There are probably many office crunchers that lay dormant over the weekend. Amazingly, the my slowest verifications aren't with HPF, it appears to be mostly FAAH. The fact that HPF needs 14 out of 19 to verify allows up to 4 errors, whereas FAAH can become delayed with only one error. Ah well, not to worry. Results are moving along nicely since the incompatibility issue with BOINC and PCAnywhere |

a lot off topic but who cares?
try rosettaview to keep an eye on all your machines from 1. my buddy winkie (win2kuser) wrote it for rosetta when they had a big problem with jobs stalling at 1%. it works with wcg, just put that path into setup. it will automatically abort stalled jobs so you don't waste crunching time. |
