Howdy, ya'll.
Just thought I would pop in here and offer up my suggestion. I Suggest that WCG does the statistics are being updated thing LATE at night. Like after 12 midnight. The reason I am asking for this is because I am bringing my team over from Grid.org, we have around 3k persons, and we keep getting members saying "I got the "The page you requested is currently unavailable because the statistics are being updated." today." |

Hello Tsurani,
We updated the server software last Thursday. Since then, knreed has been busy tracking down bugs. Since some of the bugs seem to happen only during the Statistics update, he has stopped running the update at midnight and started running it during the day while he is monitoring. Once all the bugs are squashed, we will return to the late night updating. Lawrence |

The individual statistics used to be done every 6 hours...at 0600 UTC, 1200 UTC, 1800 UTC, and 0000 UTC. Lately, individual statistics are done only every 12 hours, at 1200 UTC and 0000 UTC. Even that is TWICE as often as the old grid.org. (got'ta plug that, you know). Team statistics are done once per day at 0000 UTC. They have been running long and late due to some bugs, but they DID finish before 0300 UTC.
----------------------------------------The 1200 UTC update will not be run temporarily until the bugs are chased down. Once per day should be what you are used to. Come to think of it, grid.org ALSO ran their statistics at 0000 UTC. The only time it should change relative to that is if YOU come on or off of daylight savings time. Well...places in Indiana and Arizona do NOT go to daylight savings time. Oh well. When it's midnight in Greenwich, it's time for statistics. We don't care what time it is where you are, do we?

thanks for the update ya'll. one thing i like about here is that the Admin/ dev team actually gets back to you sooner than 2 days

They do? Well, yes, actually they do, if they are needed. You will also see some messages from project scientists in the project areas that have answered questions about project theory or procedures.

Statistics are also running very slowly or at odd times, due to some bugs that started last week. That should settle down when they are fixed.
