Sorry, but i don't understend the statisics. How long will it take to complete this project? i've seen that we are only 47000 members. To complete this project in 1 or 2 yeras i belive that it will need more than 2.000.000 members.

You do have a point, however, don't forget, people are still coming here slowly, so compensating for that, I believe that their estimate for a year is about right, give or take a month or too...

i hope yo're right, but 2.000.000 members.... maybe in 2 years, but with puplicity it wouldn't take more than a month to accive this number. I've heard about this project from the IT magazine CHIP. Maybe if others magazines or televisions will take it's example the comunity will be much ,much larger

Well with Slashdot adding 3000 users overnight, and overwhelming all other teams in all catagories within a week shows what a little publicity can do. If there was a linux client and a client that utilized multiple processors, it could really shorten the time required.
Each batch is folded on 5 different PCs, so that should be included in any guessing. |

Many members are wondering about progress of the Human Proteome Folding project. World Community Grid is working with the Institute for Systems Biology to provide better information to members about the progress of the Human Proteome Folding project. We'll post some progress information in the near future. Until we get more information, we are just guessing. |
