I notice the announcement by knreed in the Known Issues forum acknowledges that the database server problem impacted on the website but did not affect the UD or BOINC grid.
I found that a number of my UD agents were unable to connect to the grid server this morning for several hours: they have since recovered. I wonder if this might be another, as yet unreported, problem. The forums and My Grid areas were unavailable to me until a short while ago. If I tried to login I would get the "You are not authorised to view this page" message. An attempt to send a "Contact us" email generated an application error. All seems well now, so thanks to those who have undoubtedly been spending their Sunday hard at work. David. |

Hi David, Thanks for reporting the UD agent reporting outage which strikes me indeed as longer than normal. Regarless the problem, the Sunday backup maintenance run would prevent Agents to upload/download new work for a period of time. The beauty of BOINC is, that with the default 0.3 days "buffering/connect to" it is usually able to bridge most longer outages. BOINC though except for the common 'ready to report' bouncing during the schedules maintenance continued to fetch and report work as normal. From my side the Forum & "My grid" log-on went down from about 10:00 CET to circa 16:40 CET (UTC+2). No other intrusions. cheers
