Re: JP´s Books Thread

I thought the Kiran Desai was great

Other recent excellent reads were The Night Watch by Sarah Waters and Restless by William Boyd.

I'm currently about three quarters through The Tenderness of Wolves by Stef Penny, a remarkable first novel set in 1867 in the wilds of Canada by an Englishwoman who has never been to Canada and did all the research in the London Library.

Re: JP´s Books Thread

Nearly finished The Tenderness of Wolves and will then finish off the current Granta which is The Best Young American Novelists. It's very interesting to see what's just around the corner.
