Deprecated application??

Hi,

Lately I get a message like: no work is available for deprecated application or no work is available.

What exactly is this? I participate in two projects, namely AIDS and Cancer.

Is my BOINC agent no longer acceptable or what?

Thank you for taking time to reply.

The Help Defeat Cancer project is now complete.

Are you getting FightAIDS@Home work without any problems?

Re: Deprecated application??

We have had some periodic problems with the performance of our database over the past week. This has sometimes caused members to receive a message stating that no work is available for them (which also then sends the messages about the deprecated applications if they have specified which applications they want work for and they have selected HDC).

We are working on the performance problems now. In particular we have found one of the options that you run on BOINC "resend lost results" causes a lot of load on the database. We have disabled that feature for now and the load on the db has dropped a lot. We are looking to see if we can add a index to help this feature use less of a load.

Yes, since a while. But knreed (next reply) may have found the answer.
Thank you anyway for replying.

Re: Deprecated application??

39er,

If what I described is the problem, then you should be able to go to the advanced view -> project tab and select World Community Grid. Then press the update button.

If you get work then it was the problem I described. If not then we need to do more digging.

thanks,
Kevin
