Hello,
I've now had my world community grid agent running for a total of 11 days, 6 hours, 55 minutes and counting. I've gotten 10836 points on the agent, but my profile online says that I haven't accumulated anything. I'm worried that I'm not actually contributing anything and that perhaps my cycles would be better off using a different client. Any ideas? |

Hello Ivy Mike,
This happens sometimes when people accidentally create 2 member names during installation. The server is recording your points. Your client does not increment the points total until the server sends an acknowledgment that it has received them. Bring up the UD client and see what member name it shows. That is where your points are. If you have problems, you can always send a 'Contact Us' query with your ID number in it. Lawrence |

I also have similar problem.
----------------------------------------I have a device: Name: Autoinstall install date:Sat Apr 28 14:29:24 GMT+00:00 2007 I'm sure it has reported at least 2 results, but in "device statistics",I can't find this device. (you can find this device in "device manager") so what happened about this?? I am sure my accout name is right. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Kaoh at May 2, 2007 2:37:46 PM] |

Hi Kaoh,
Quite a lot started happening on Thursday. knreed has been wrestling with the database. Some errors started a lot of people using BOINC's 'resend lost work' feature when communications hiccupped. Today knreed discovered that the database was searching the hard disk and pulling up lists of EVERY work unit ever run by a computer just to discover what the 'lost' work unit was. So he has disabled that feature until he has time to program a new index for the database to keep track of current outstanding work units. The server has just been crawling these last 2 days under the load from this error, the new members from grid.org and possibly SETI crunchers (since their server has crashed). Right now he is rebuilding the index for the Forum, since the servers let that fall behind. So don't despair. He will get to your message, but please don't be surprised if he waits till Monday. I started sending him messages last night with little inclusions like 'Get some sleep' and 'Enjoy the weekend'. Lawrence |
