My client grabbed some HPF2 work units but didn't know what to do with ELF binary type 0. I've found the brandelf command, but what file do I need to point it at to correct this?
In the meantime I've changed my preferences to not pull HPF2 work, but I'd rather fix it the right way if possible. Thanks |

But you can run work from the other WCG projects?
To find the executable, look in BOINC/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org - the file will be named something like wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.15_windows_intelx86 (but with a different version and platform name, obviously). I'll ask the techs if they did anything different with this release that may be causing your problem. |

Yep, I'm running GC work and getting valid results.
Naturally I have to be difficult and run BSD. I built version 5.8.15 from the ports tree. I wish I knew more about this than I do.. (but I'll learn)I ran brandelf -t Linux wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu brandelf -l gives me: known ELF types are: FreeBSD(9) Linux(3) Solaris(6) SVR4(0) Does that look right before I retry some hpf2 work? |

Looks plausible.... give it a whirl.

No joy
[error] Signature verification failed for wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu Any ideas? Thanks |

Sorry, still waiting for a response from the techs. It's the weekend, so give them a day or two to look into it.
Using brandelf evidently broke the digital signature, so BOINC won't trust it - or run it. |

Just checking in to see if you'd found out anything from the techs.
I definitely appreciate you checking in and replying on weekends. |

The techs have seen the posts, but I haven't heard anything useful yet. Knreed told me he would ask another staff member about it - apparently HPF2 was compiled with gcc 4.
