Re: The Edwardians wear drape jackets

It was a fine day. I went to the garden centre to buy a rose, as one of mine was in a sorry state. I bought a lovely rose, and a couple of shrubs (that I never went for, ) and some gravel. I brought them home and its chucking it down! crying

Memo to JP...YES THEY WOULD! biggrin

Re: The Edwardians wear drape jackets

Evening all

Blue sky now but otherwise a day of heavy showers.

Done nothing whilst contemplating all that needs to be done in the garden.

And ..... I see that the next door's horse chestnut tree that also covers a big chunk of my patch, has got the leaf bugs again. Lot's around here had it last year and it was said that it could possibly return and if it continues then, over the years, the tree will be killed.

Living in a conservation area the thing is protected so what can they do about that?

Evening all, I don't know if it will work in this situation but many years ago to get rid of the codling grub in an apple tree, building a green bonfire (lots of white smoke ) close by so that the smoke covered the tree, worked perfectly, but then I expect you are in a smokeless zone!!.

Might be worth a try, too many trees have been lost recently what with Elm desease, storms etc', and now I read the Mighty Oak is under threat too!!.
Good luck
