Re: On this Day

Wednesday, 29th August 1945

That pimple was now a full blown abscess in the middle of the palm of his hand. This time he turned up, as instructed, on sick parade. and the M.O. decided to continue with the same treatment. The rest of sick parade was the usual mild hangovers, plus coughs, colds and minor inluries; there had been no route marches, foot drills or any of the common health hazards of army life.

The base of the ulcer was now clean, dry and healing nicely by first intention. The M.O. ordered three days of dry dressings and re-attendance on Monday .

Re: On this Day

In 1945, this day would seem to have been a blank day, despite the fact that is was a new weekend.

Not today, however. The whole format of the software produces strings which are easy to read, easy to dip into at any page number and easy to edit. It also appears that the size commands are working properly for the first time. I have had to re-edit this posting to reduce the post to a more reasonable size

To celebrate, I am going to attempt to make the diary less personal and more based on the opinions of people in general at the time, and anyone with any opinion on those times is welcome to join in.

Lets see some of other members' views! What special significance does the day's date have for you?
