Re: The Road to 65,000 CPU days A Day Thread

My old brain cell can't remember but doesn't 72 or thereabouts yield just short of a 150 year day?

No worries we'll just wait until just after 1am UTC (About 10 past 2 in the morning UK time) so we'll soon know peace

Also the members list only shows members that have returned a work unit so there could be plenty more ex UD'ers crunching away that haven't yet been counted

(I might be wrong about the above but it feels right)

Re: The Road to 65,000 CPU days A Day Thread

Think "The Kinks" had a song going something like ".... on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon..... in the Summertime, in the Summertime". Well it's April 29, 2007, a Sunny Sunday Afternoon and the Grid Refugees are helping in baring, or is it bearing the fruits of our labors, translating in a midday result of exactly 75:000 CPU Years. dancing
CPU Time 75:000:10:42:48, Points: 25,432,316, Results: 80,021

On a Sunny Sunday Afternoon..... in the Autumns time, in the Autumns time biggrin

3/4 of a century by Lunchtime on a Sunday

Monday Monday is the tune I have in my head. Shame they didn't write it a day earlier

Congrats to the WCG support team for all the work they have done following this sad event !

My favorite HT columnist was an 'Art' too (Buchwald)

For the remainder.... just silence and awe about Sunday's production:

Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) 151:303:06:06:32
Points Generated 51,953,806
Results Returned 162,858

Prepping to write the first 65,000 CPU day Day in the WCG diary.

Quite impressive. Looking forward to the final numbers of new members/devices from grid.org - I'm sure they will make a hefty contribution. biggrin

'effy' (E. Frijters) is tracking the daily number of members and devices that are adding with a result returned. Looks like we're doing around 1000+ daily from before 250-350 depending on the day of the week.... hope many find their way to BOINC to get all those multi cores zooming.

Re: The Road to 65,000 CPU days A Day Thread

Today, in Holland, we celebrate the Queen's birthday, so we weren't at work today. I expect a lot of Dutch refugees changing clients at work tomorrow...

Stats haven't changed since this morning. I will update the totals tomorrow.

Thanks for the nick name btw (effy) Maybe I'll change my name into this... Not many people around here use their real name. I use my name because when I started, the internet was still young & innocent...

When I started using 'the net' you had to have a security clearance. Online time was paid by the minute, 100 baud was a fast connection.... storage space was very expensive & scarce, anyone who posted using complete words or sentences instead of the accepted shorthand was ostracized. When it was opened to the public, it started going downhill...to it's current state of debauchery! crying wink
