Re: Tray Icon

There are a few ways you can do this. Can you tell us why you want to do this, so we can figure out the best method for you?

Re: Tray Icon

Hello hat3k.
Running as a service always hides the icon. Another way is to select Start - Settings - Taskbar and Start Menu - Customize then click in the Behavior column for the icon you want to hide. A drop down menu will give you 3 choices. Select 'Always Hide' and then select OK and then Apply.

Re: Tray Icon

Thing with that icon 'hide' trick is, that a little 'reveal' button shows up. Don't know how to make that disappear crying

Re: Tray Icon

The probability of it ever to become a feature of the current WCG (UD) agent is nop, nil, nada. If ever it's going to get upgraded, it's likely, that a standard service feature will become an added option (an option already existing when installing the BOINC agent http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php). Depends on the owners/developers of the software.... United Devices.

Re: Tray Icon

funny part is, i found a little 3rd party tool to 'unhide' the tray icon if lost e.g. after an explorer crash :O

Re: Tray Icon

That shouldn't happen. It's perfectly clear how to replace the icon in the MS docs, and any developer who fails to do so is just lazy.

If I can do it, anyone can....

"When the taskbar is created, it registers a message with the TaskbarCreated string and then broadcasts this message to all top-level windows. When your taskbar application receives this message, it should assume that any taskbar icons it added have been removed and add them again."
