Hi,
----------------------------------------these 3 lines in excerpt have interest: 4/3/2007 4:00:59 PM|World Community Grid|Restarting task la126_00031_16 using hpf2 version 518 4/3/2007 4:01:01 PM|World Community Grid|[error] Error on file upload: EOF on socket read : asked for 23, got 0 4/3/2007 4:01:01 PM|World Community Grid|[error] Error on file upload: EOF on socket read : asked for 16382, got 0 1. It started a HPF2 job..... did it run successfully? 2/3. Can find 1 hit on oogle, suggesting corrupted files from a job that took only 9 seconds to run thru. EOF would stand for 'end of file' where it believes it should be X bytes long, but in actuality only finds zero bytes. Can you locate the stdoutdae.txt file in the BOINC directory. It should have log entries from before you restarted BOINC that show when the job originally started and any other messages for this faah work unit.

HPF2 is still running.
I believe you are correct that the FAAH task has a corrupted file which is causing the problem. STDOUTDAE shows I have successfully uploaded other files since the FAAH task upload has failed. The FAAH task is also past it's reporting deadline. I beleive I should delete the task and all will then be OK. Can you tell me how to delete it? Thanks for your help! |

I think I'm OK. I aborted the transfer and the completed task. I assume everything is now OK. Thanks again!

okay, just let us know if it crops up again and possible give some info under what circumstance the situation developed.
----------------------------------------For others not in the know how to cancel a irreversable bad transfer: Just select the problem job in the BOINC Tasks tab, than in left margin select 'abort'. Still no success, go to the Transfer tab and select the bad items and hit 'abort transfer'. The final step of project update should remove all traces of the bad records.
