I've got an Athlon 64 that's variably-clocked from 800 MHz to 2.2GHz. Unfortunately, when I installed the software, the machine was under light load and showed up as 800 MHz ... but it crunches as 2.2GHz. Will the software ever "re-examine" the processor and realize it's faster?

Not only will it re-estimate CPU Power with each result, but my personal experience is that it usually underestimates speed the first time. [If other people have different experience, no need to correct me in a flurry of posts. But personally I think that it estimates speed the first time while still running through the installation procedure, giving a false value.]

As others indicate, this is not unusual and self correcting. Based on what you indicated, you have nothing to worry about or to fix. Happy New Year!
