Fullsoft, it's a known bug in the login process. The login has to be secure, but if you login while already surfing the forums, you get redirected to a secure URL, instead of the correct (normal) URL.

To avoid it happening, sign in before you click on the forum link. I suggest you bookmark the forum page, so if this annoyance ever happens, you can click on the bookmark and return to the normal forum.
