What does the line "2007-02-27 22:13:55 [SETI@home] Message from server: platform 'i386-portbld-freebsd' not found" mean?
Perhaps a download port on their server wasn't available.

Why not ask the folks over at the SETI@home forum? It's their project.

I can't reproduce your problem on BOINC 5.8.11. One download stopped, but it will probably pick up again later. Another workunit downloaded. I suspended WCG for the moment and seti@home started executing. What kind of diseases are we looking for again in outer space?

Hi ruggernut.

Unlike most other BOINC projects, WCG requires encryption. And that's the problem here: there's some error reading the certificate file.

The file is called (from memory) ca-bundle.crt - this problem has been reported with a few versions of BOINC, and most likely is an issue with the package you installed. Anyway, grab the file, put it in the BOINC directory, check the permissions, you should be sorted.

There's a fair bit of discussion about this problem - try the forum search for more information.

got it - copied the cert file from my windows install and all is working.
