Where do I find settings such as CPU throttle?

Where can I find all the settings referenced on the BOINC home page (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/prefs.php)? The only thing I can find is the profile on the WCG website, but that only lets me pick the days it runs. Where can I set things like CPU throttle, memory usage, etc?

I tried searching for stuff on this forum, but the search feature returns nearly every post in the forum, not too useful.

Thanks,
Brian

.... nearly every post.... Do This:

\I/

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...=&forum=3&rows=20

\|/

My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profiles > What Ever Profile U chose > Line 1 below the Memory Usage > Use no more than: 100 % of processor time.

The BOINC throttle (thru v 5.8.11) is known to create incidences of corrupted work-units and a bit cumbersome in operation.... 60% equals 3 seconds running, 2 seconds pause, hence not advertised! Use Threadmaster 3rd party Util for smooth and flawless throttling if machine runs hot or takes too much time off the Foreground.

Re: Where do I find settings such as CPU throttle?

Ok, I was doing something stupid as I figured. I did not notice there were separate profiles for BOINC and kept clicking on the UD profile.

I guess the search does an OR instead of an AND as I get 2743 results when searching on cpu throttle. I looks like if I do a search on cpu + throttle, that switches it to an AND and narrows it down.

Thanks for the help

The "And this is the And" in quotation marks and it will look for an exact phrase. Try is now and this post will pop up as the single result (unless there is a copycat ;-)

For sophisticated searchies use a large trawling engine.

Has the corruption been fixed in 5.8.15?

Re: Where do I find settings such as CPU throttle?

Really cant be bothered with something that at 60% runs 3 seconds and pauses 2... think at minimum one has to switch on the 'leave in memory'. Just telling what i read about the BOINC throttle..... Use BES (not personally tested butt with GUI) or Threadmaster ., latter I've been using since middle of last year with great satisfaction, just change the version number of the registry entries which current are for me:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ThreadMaster\Parameters\Applications]
"mfadmin.exe"=hex(2):35,00,00,00
"SpybotSD.exe"="5"
"Ad-Aware.exe"="5"
"RegCleaner.exe"="5"
"dfrgntfs.exe"="10"
"dfrgfat.exe"="10"
"WCGrid_AutoDock.exe"="90"
"wcg_hdc_tma.exe"="90"
"wcgrid_fcg_ssearch.exe"="90"
"wcg_hpf2_rosetta.exe "="100"
"wcgridHCMD.exe"="100"

"wcg_faah_autodock_5.28_windows_intelx86"="90"
"wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.18_windows_intelx86"="90"
"wcg_fcg1_ssearch_5.12_windows_intelx86"="90"
"wcg_hdc_tma_5.19_windows_intelx86"="90"
