Hi,
----------------------------------------Having problems with the new BOINC 5.8.11 on my MacBook Pro... previously I had a lot of problems caused by the cpu throttling, but I've abandoned that and have settled at just allowing BOINC to use one of the two cores (which normally means 50% of both...). Anyway, I regularly get work units failing to upload, and they refuse even after multiple retries and restarts of the client. The uploads always fail at the same point (e.g. at 95% upload progress for one of them), with messages like this: Tue Feb 27 16:51:46 2007|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Started upload of file faah1351_d082n422_x2BPW_00_1_1 Tue Feb 27 16:51:50 2007|World Community Grid|[error] Error on file upload: socket read incomplete: asked for 3253, got 0: No such file or directory Tue Feb 27 16:51:50 2007|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed upload of faah1351_d082n422_x2BPW_00_1_1: transient upload error What's going on? I'm tempted to revert to the previous version of BOINC I was using, as I never had any problems with that... whereas I've had nothing but trouble with this one. Thanks in advance for any info ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 27, 2007 4:02:30 PM] |

See this post for new BOINC version advise. If not working, downgrade to the last known working version.
