okay, call me thick...it's happened before! All I need to know is, do I have to be online to run this software and how do the results get back to wherever they have to go? Is it automatic once the thingy gets to 100%?

You don't have to be online constantly, but you do have to be online to upload results and download work.
If you use BOINC (one of the download choices) then you can queue up a little work so you can continue running while you are offline. |

Thankyou so much. It was my son's idea for me to do this, but he's off at uni and I do get a little lost on pcs sometimes.
