Re: Client for Windows Vista?

For WCG(UD) agent install to other partition or just plain outside the C:\Program Files\ structure.... e.g. make it C:\WCGUD or for BOINC C:\BOINC and you should never get questions like permission or a Redmond force to push u into reinstalling.

Re: Client for Windows Vista?

I'll check back from time to time to see if a Vista version exists, will run it when I can. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
Karel

I ran BOINC on Vista Ultimate RC 1 and RC 2 (32 bit) before running it on the final release. There's no reason to wait.

Re: Client for Windows Vista?

I use BOINC on Windows Vista with no problems. I created a user for boinc purposes and installed BOINC as a service using that account. The account is granted 'Log on as a Service' rights through the install. I then went into the Program Files directory and assigned the BOINC user account full rights to that directory and all sub directories and files. It runs all the time and I've not no issues with running other applications, including CPU intensive applications.

Re: Client for Windows Vista?

Only problem I had with windows vista (on Amd) was when installing an updated version of Boinc it could not stop the running client, just locked up ..exit Boinc before install and it was no problem and been running fine since.
