Hello,
is there any client that could use more than one procesor at the time? I am using the client downloaded from worldcomunitygrid and I have a dualcore 2 duo procesor. It's waste of time as it is used only for 50% max. Or if there is any way I could run two clients at the time? Thanks for your replies. |

BOINC is what you want...
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/ms/viewDownloadBoinc.do Look at the last option. |

Yes, that works. Thanks a lot. Is there any way I could make sure that BOINC doesn't download the same project twice at the time? It first downloaded the FAAH and started to work on it. Than it downloaded another FAAH but didn't start to work on it. Probably because it was working on one already. It downloaded another three FAAHs before it got the HDC project and started to work on that. So at the moment I have in my queue 4 FAAHs projects.
Thanks, Petr Hojzak. |

WCG send you work from different projects depending on many factors, including how much work is available, what work other people are doing, and what your computer can run.
So, if you have selected more than one project, you may see an uneven mix of work units sent to your computer. Please don't worry about this, WCG carefully balance the work that is sent out. If you just want to work on HDC, then you need to adjust your project preferences: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProjects.do |

BOINC can work on any 2(or more) work units at the same time, whether they be from the same project or not. You shouldn't have had to download an HDC in order to get both processers working. Maybe check your device profile here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewProfiles.do and see what "On multiprocessors, at most use: processors" is set to. Default is 4 and should be atleast 2 in your case.
----------------------------------------If that part is OK then just let your machine run for a while and let the FAAH's in queue work their way through. ![]() |
