howto run 1 task and quit

Is there an easy way to allow for boinc to download a task, run the task til completion, return the results, and then exit?

One thought....after the task downloads and starts, click on No New Tasks on the Project tab. BOINC won't exit after the task is done but it won't get a second task.

I guess I was looking to do this in a more automated way. I am trying to hook up boinc into an already existing batch environment.

Re: howto run 1 task and quit

I think it could be done as follows

1. Set the device profile to e.g. connect 0.05 days (equals 1.2 hours work buffer size).
2. Select a single project like FAAH (8 CPU hours) or GC (2 CPU hours)
3. Start up BOINC with command line instructions on a scheduled time
4. Stop/Exit BOINC with the command line instructions on a scheduled time

If the project finishes, BOINC idles until step 4. If it has not finished, it will complete it the next day, and if still on, start a new work unit.

Never done it, so you're our columbus going to uncharted territory (for me).

cheers
