>1. Looks like u want to run BOINC in screensaver mode after after 30 minutes idle? Is the screensaver time setting longer than idle time setting? See Advice about BOINC Screensavers for instructions for BOINC.
I do not use BOINC screensaver. I use screensaver of the WinXP standard that idle time is with a password of 5 minutes. >2. Recommend to change the switching time to 240 minutes for efficiency. Although 5.8.15 waits for checkpoints to switch project, the switching takes time to reload next project on schedule, particular with large models like CPDN and HDC and 'leave in memory' off. I try to change switching time for 204 minutes. >3. Does BOINC run 2 projects simultaneous? Suggest for an HT computer to set processors to 1. Particular running 2 Help Cancer Jobs in parallel on an HT processor is extremely demanding. I still run out two BOINC projects at the same time. I do not choose participation to "Help Defeat Cancer project" of WCG. The reason is because it thought that I do not satisfy my system request condition. Thank you for valuable advice for me. |

..... I still run out two BOINC projects at the same time. I do not choose participation to "Help Defeat Cancer project" of WCG. The reason is because it thought that I do not satisfy my system request condition. Thank you for valuable advice for me. According this "B24126_0079_YTMA77Block1B-42-6-4-c2_2" you have been working on Help Defeat Cancer work units. The Memory (1gb) and P4 HT CPU do satisfy the requirement for BOINC agent. Thus, u need to de-select HDC in the device profile and switch to 1 core processing to reduce the burden on your computer. edit: corrected grammar

I changed my PC environment as follows. In this, MEM:1GB, CPU:1(2.8G) whether full? *Hyper-Threading mode: ON->OFF Thank you for valuable advice for me. |

Hello TKU-J194,
Hyperthreading is a nice technique that can speed up the total CPU throughput by 15% while increasing the CPU chip size by only 5%. But it does not let you run 2 programs using 2/3 GB each in a 1 GB memory. So the smart thing is to tell BOINC that it can run only 1 thread while keeping hyperthreading active. Lawrence |

Hi !, Hello Lawrence, I'm sorry. I cannot write English well.
Thank you for valuable advice for me. I do not have technical knowledge. However, I feel that it is good technology. In addition, I understand necessary technology to solve it and cannot talk about necessary means. I feel that the BOINC projects that much memory resources need in these days increase recently. Thenks Lawrence. |
