Which BOINC version for which project?

I'm running BOINC at my office and a while ago I created an installer which uses Active Directory and Group Policy to distribute BOINC over the network. (www.thelazyslug.com)
This is still the good-old 5.2.13 version and it's running smoothly. I've noticed that the Genome project doesn't run on this version.
Since I have little time available, I have decided to renew the installer when BOINC 5.8 is final. And even when it's final, I don't know if I can find the time to do it. I'm not that experienced with AD and GPO you know... blushing

Can anyone indicate which projects run on which BOINC version? So I get an idea of how long the 5.2.13 version will be working correctly. Will any of the future projects be able to run on 5.2.13?
FAAH and HDC are running smoothly, but I'm afraid that some workstations will run out of work when FAAH finishes... crying

Re: Which BOINC version for which project?

Only Genome Comparison needs 5.4 (recommended 5.4.11/5.4.9 OS dependent) due its compressed file transmission. The plan is to have all future projects to make use of this feature to also make it more attractive for the modem dial-up members. When the final beta issues from the HPF2 December test on BOINC are ironed out, assume it to start with compression as well, also because it's going to run for a long time.

PS: Projects like HDC with their high definition image files would not gain much from compression.

Re: Which BOINC version for which project?

So, that basically means that when FAAH is finished, and computers have less then 750MB RAM, there will be no more work for computers with version 5.2.13?

If so, are there already any estimates when FAAH will finish?

Re: Which BOINC version for which project?

That's essentially what it boils down to, but given 5.4.x is out now over 6 months, it's well past upgrade time.....this close to the final 5.8 there is though a little time left to wait.

FA@H passed 39,500 CPU years: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewProject.do?projectShortName=faah . Calculations were about 43 thousand CPU years to completion were needed. At a rate of 85 per day that should be about 45 days. That said, the not exactly daily updated project web site still reports experiment 6 as in preparation as of this writing.
