Why For example censoring the web in china. They have sold there "do not evil" maxim, for buissnes in china. Also, I am not shure, what they really wan't. But, I did not belive to there "do not evil" maxim... I think that Google have a power computer capacity! Yes. But a lot of companies did not allow installing any uncertified software on the computers. Mostly for security reasons. I think, that the project would have more success, if they concentrate on individual crunchers. |

Hello ZURP,
google already incorporates folding@home in its google toolbar As far as I know, they did link to a version of Folding@Home for a while. Then they removed that feature from the toolbar. I never came across an official explanation, but I read a post that said that someone had hacked the toolbar and was distributing a phony toolbar that pretended to install a F@H client. Google then decided to avoid the security risk. I do not know if this is true or not. Lawrence |

You're correct in that Google did allow you to download a feature on to its toolbar, which was the f@h client. I believe they stopped it because rumor began spreading of the company instead exploiting the software to compute marketing information, and Google of course didn't want to risk a change in how their ethical standards are viewed. I think it was a smart decision on their part, and a link from Google compute now redirects you straight to the f@h homepage.
