I just installed World Community Grid on 14 systems. The World Community Grid Agent is in the Startup folder on all of the systems. Whenever I restart any system, I always get a Grid Agent window which says "Another instance of the Grid Agent is already running. If I run msconfig and look at the Startup tab, I see two entries for World Community Grid. The location for one entry is "startup" and the location for the other entry is "common startup". This must be what is causing the problem but why were both entries created on all of the systems?

This seems to happen, but not sure why... was it installed as admin or as user? Anyway, delete the one in user start up folder, which is user level. Common User(?) or All Users, will start it up for any user logging in.

I installed it as Admin and it's in the All Users/Start Menu/Programs/ Startup folder. There are no programs or folders in any of the Start Menu/Programs folders except for the All Users folder so it's not like there are duplicate entries of the WCG agent in another Startup folder. If I remove the WCG Agent from the Startup folder, both entries in the msconfig startup tab disappear. If I put the WCG Agent back in the All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Startup folder, both entries (startup and common startup) reappear in the msconfig startup tab.

It's painful and arduous, but u need to go into Explorer and remove the entry from all but the All User start up folder.
----------------------------------------It's a classic long standing Windows bug..... delete it from any user menu and the All User goes with it.
