Yeah it's a great feeling, I discovered these projects today by a scientific magazine. I got 3 pc's, where 2 are mostly not doing that much so this gives them something useful to do, although I don't care about points or anything (yet :p)

depriens, You have just provided me with a great argument to convince my husband that the second machine I'll be building soon is really needed for crunching. He might even think I'm being logical.
I'm sure the cost of a cruncher and the power it uses is much less than what I've been giving to various groups in the past year. Thanks!Leprousthang, WCG is addictive, but in a good way. I just started this month, and already am quite lost. It's also fun to be on a team, and contribute to it as well as the projects. Have fun, redstapler |

Yes, it did work! He likes the idea because we lost 2 family members in the past 2 years to cancer, one of which was his dad, and this is a way to contribute towards research besides just sending money.
It looks like I'll be building a better system than anticipated to replace this one, which will be just for crunching. Intel dual core has been recommended. There goes my budget for the next few months. Thanks for the idea, redstapler |
