I've tried the various font options (all four) when pasting into a post in these forums from elsewhere, usually Notepad under XP. I need a monospace font, or at least the same effect. Anyone have any suggestions

I think what you're saying is like pasting a table and loosing all the spaces? Than, do same as with a quote, except, select the table data and hit the code button up top
----------------------------------------if not, let the next one try cheers

Well, it works but it's not very flexible. You can't seem to do any tags within a {code} tag so you can't do size, color, bolding and such. It would be nice if a monospace font was an option on the font tag instead of kludging it this way.

What, you mean like this? Size doesn't work no matter what you do. Enhanced mode allows complex nesting, apparently. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 29, 2006 4:28:14 AM] |

Sorry Sek....I'm no Hannibal (Lecter that is)
---------------------------------------- Didy got me wondering so I did something really crazy - I actually clicked on the forum help button. Did find the one mention of enhanced mode where it says it allows the complex nesting. That's all. Shoulda just sat down and tried a bunch of combinations. Sigh.....old age is such fun. |

Okay, let's try some testing to see just what works and doesn't:
----------------------------------------
note: using buttons will lose existing text entered so type tags manually bold text in code tag code tag in bold text italic text in code tag code tag in italic text underlined text in code tag code tag in underlined text
code tag in strikethru size huge in code tag code tag in size huge red text in code tagcode tag in red text color text and normal text in code tagcolor text and color black text in code tag Okay, basically, bolding and sizing doesn't work with code tags. If you use color, the font size varies depening on which tag is inside the other. Also, if you use color for "bolding", then it's best to use another color tag for black (even though black is not a choice on the color list) so that the text has the same font size. Also, keep your code tags to a minimum as a number of line feeds are added automatically whether you want them or not. Figured I'd post this here in case any one comes along as crazy as I am so they don't have to reinvent the wheel All for monospace text...sigh..... |

Yes, the line feeds is funny, but u can get rid of many, by simply typing e.g. directly after the
----------------------------------------this is in quotes do you see.... no spacing... how to find out what codes keithhenry used...... just select reply with quote on his post and they all show up :O Now, i want my hand back ![]()
