I tried to stay silent but couldn't.
----------------------------------------Here my findings: Page Overview: - In general to many clicks and scrolling to get to the information. - The first 3 widgets contain no interresting information AT ALL. - The 3 widgets in "My contribution" could (and should) be a one-liner. - The large fonted values change very slowly, I don't need them. - "My activity over time": Cool thing. Would be nice if we could choose between RAC and total. - Sorting of lists in general: For numbers and dates i prefer default sorting in descending order (highest or newest at top). Now I always have to sort twice for descending order in eg: "My project contribution" column "Runtime". - The picture of the lady is irritating in the very clean concept of the website. Looks like an ad. A normal widget for "Sharing" would be cleaner (and nicer). - I miss the list of "contribution per day" badly. - I miss the information when the stats were last updated. Page Results: - Sorting doesn't work in all columns. I miss sortinig by "Return time". - Filter doesn't keep it's state - There is plenty of room between the title "Results" and the list. Why not always show the filter (like in the old website)? General: The padding pattern of the runtime values is buggy: The part for the days is padded to only two digits instead of three: 0:09:08:29:06 I have to admit that I'm a bit disapointed. When I read about a new webiste I was thrilled and hoped for improvements. Instead it feels like going two steps back. Now I'll exercise myself in patience and hope for improvements. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Boon-X at Sep 21, 2021 6:48:30 PM] |

It's a work in progress. It's good enough for now. Let the team digest all feedback, and I'm sure we'll see some improvements. When WCG is fully handed over to Krembil, it's up to their team to decide what to do with the website, and forum.
----------------------------------------No need to get all worked up over this change IMO. It's just a website, and not a matter of life or death. That's all I'm going to say about this for now. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Sep 21, 2021 8:37:13 PM] |

The old WCG site wouldn't parse certain characters like \ (backslash) properly. Now, it does, but only on the device list. If you go to results everything from the \ gets wiped out. Similarly if you click on the device name under results.
So for example /-\ ndy it will only show: /- Also on the results page, you might add a note to hover over the graph at the bottom with the mouse cursor (supposing you tap on a mobile device) to see balloon box info. On the computer, it looks like you can click on a square because it gets outlined. Minor detail though. At quick glance, it's nice to see a refreshed design. The navigation is going to take some getting use to. An intro to the new website would be nice. |

The new widget is totally messed up. Font size is way too big and does not respect the own margins of the widget. To the right, the text goes beyond the margin. To the bottom, the link to join WCG just disappears. Please fix this. Which options are you using for the widget when you see this? Display Statistics for: Username Display Member or Team Name: Yes Select a Statistic to Display: Results returned Display Current Rank: Yes Display Project List: No Display Special Announcements: No Display your recruitment link? I'd like to use my recruitment link. Select an Image: The smaller, white one. But the issue also happens with other options. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by nunesgh at Sep 21, 2021 9:37:40 PM] |

My initial thoughts on the site:
----------------------------------------No option for a dark mode really hurts the eyes now, as there's even more white screen on display than before. That's also a problem with the BOINC UI, so I'm not going to get too annoyed about it - but it's worth noting that it's only worse now. The prior site was meh, but this is just 90%+ white screen now... had to turn down my display brightness significantly in order to use it for Also agree with some of the comments about accessing the forum. I had trouble accessing the forum from the home page - the placement at the bottom does help somewhat, but it's not accessible for new users whatsoever. Unless there's some sort of information about them at sign up (speculation) - there needs to be a direct link at the header of the site. The my contribution tabs - I'm a fan! For the overview, prioritizing general users over technical ones, by focusing on a cleaner look. Scrolling down to access more specific statistics is a reasonable trade off, and one I appreciate (regardless of whether it was intended or not). The milestones tab is very much appreciated - it's hard to track when I received new badges otherwise, as I don't usually keep a close eye on them. The new charts for data is also appreciated! The "streak" feature is an interesting one, but is clearly starting from launch, not the actual history of contribution - which is reasonable, but will be lost once the site goes down for maintenance? Badges - I'm fine with them. Taking away the "metal" stylings makes sense to me, as the order of the badges ended up making no sense being higher than diamond, etc etc. For most users, badges are not a race - so using medals as equivalents made little sense. The badges alongside the rest of the site, will take getting used to - but what I see so far is for the better of the project. In sum, I can tell that there was work and care put in. Still not perfect, but an improvement - and more than acceptable as the transition continues. ![]() |

Hi yoerik,
Thanks for your feedback! Regarding the streaks, knreed posted about the reason for starting those at the launch of the website: "The streak is based on the time you return a result successfully (which is somewhat under your control) and not based the time that your result was validated (which is not very much under your control). We do not store this level of information in the database so we were not able to reconstruct streaks backwards in time." |

It's horrible. Why did they screw with the color of the badges and other dislikes starting with the login page.

Hey caitilarkin - that wasn't really my concern, but I do appreciate you chiming in! I understand that it makes sense that it had to start from launch as it was a new feature. My concern was about downtime screwing with it, which knreed answered further down in that thread. So - thank you for reading through my feedback, and thanks for bringing my attention to that thread, the main/only concern about a streak was answered. Thank you for all your hard work! ![]() |

The first thing I noticed was an almost complete lack of any color in the red portion of the spectrum. Except for the ARP line and my 20 yr badges, everything is BLUE and some green.
Lots of white. Lots. Almost snow blinding amount. If the font gets any bigger on the overview/my contribution area, even the people on the ISS will be able to read it. Please fix the sort of columns in the results area. Why should I have to go to my team and select myself just to get my standings globally? That should be on my overview page. Please put the "Previous page/Next page buttons at the top of the results page, not just the bottom. |

I check stats daily to see how close I am to my next badge. The badges were part of my motivation to put all my devices on WCG. Now they are bland, no longer have meaningful distinctions and look like old 8 bit computing graphics.
