There is some news. We are waiting on the next set of type A work units from the researchers and expect them any time now. Also, the first batch of type A work units that went out has completed. I am verifying the results on my end and packaging them up to send back to the researchers.

-Uplinger, guess you're talking about some groups of 25 WU's. No need to confirm, just preventing convulsions for those still waiting on a wingman or wingmen. I'm really surprised that any complete groups of 25 could have finished with an overall return rate of about 75%. It seems impossible.  |

not impossible, improbable. I could go into the stats on it, but don't have time...just think, you might think it's impossible to win the major lottery, but someone wins at some point. so not impossible, improbable :)

Oh yea, I also sent back the results to the researchers...so we'll need to wait a few days to make sure that I packaged them up properly for them to process them. If so, the first type B batches should come out after that is complete.

I calcualte the probability as something like the quantity of 0.75 to the 25th power times 40. This would be about 0.3 percent. Is that right? |

Actually if you do the equation you have stated, it's closer to 3%. I got 0.75 ^ 25 = 0.0007525. This * 40 = 0.0301... which then multiply by 100 to get percentage. This would be the simple stats of color ball math as I would call it. meaning the only stats are certain. But there are other stats that aren't mentioned, this being were some of the results sent out to reliable hosts as make up jobs already...etc etc etc...the fun part of a volunteer grid is LOTS of variables :) And I for one love the variables the volunteers create :) (My way of saying thank you to all the crunchers)
