twylight, thanks for your always eloquent contribution.... when are you permanently moving to the CaC project and crunch for money as you promised the people at WCG of whom you wrote you had enough.... "put your money where your mouth is" is an old English expression I believe.

For individual contributions you'd need to have access to a persons account/password which no-one is likely to do, leaving the team contributions. This is a pure volunteer project where money has yet to change hands. If you go lobbying in the area you live and find friends or family to donate towards a jointly owned PC to contribute for a good cause, that would give you standing in your local community and helps spread the word on how diseases can be battled. What happened to your crunching as your personal statistics show no results were send in since ~August 01? For assistance getting you fixed we're always ready to help out. cheers

Regardless, your comment is a complete non sequitur. I'm not asking people to send me money on a promise (what a joke). If and/or when gridfinity is up and running I'll crunch a few work units for them and see what the pay out is like. In terms of your low-brow colloquialism of "putting my money where my mouth is" - I just spent $1500USD on a new quad-core system which I will be putting to work on WCG - despite asinine comments such as yours. The forum admins will deal with it eventually. Right now, WCG are fiendishly busy. They are pushing out a new project, and this brings the total running projects to 4. Also, next week is the BOINC workshop in Geneva - WCG will be attending.
So, you will understand why we're not troubling the staff with anything non-urgent right now. |
