Re: I will fold for your username and team

You missed a bit, too:

World Community Grid sincerely appreciates the invaluable help that these members provide and asks that you respect the requests and opinions of the Community Advisors.

If we can solve problems with a polite request, we try to do that before involving the administrators. This only works, of course, if members tone it down when they are requested to do so.

The role of Community Advisor is subject only to the decisions of the WCG staff. We do what they ask us, with the tools they provide. The role has been redefined a couple of times over the years, and will no doubt continue to evolve.

Well said, Didactylos, well said. You are one of the best with a level head, amazing knowledge of the "parts and pieces" and with a most calming disposition. Thanks for that! There has been lots of tension lately, with new projects and lots of changes and some attitudes ... it will settle down again, I think. Now get back to work! (LOL) <dataman>

The prior exchange was not polite and wasn't even close. A CA had an issue with a member here. An issue that had nothing to do with this topic.

Someone who no longer contributes to WCG gets the benefit of the doubt but active members who criticize the post get skewered.

Yes that is what happened but don't hold your breath waiting for anyone to speak out about it.

Yep, even a CA (just normal people) can have a bad "caffeine" day. Can I buy the Grid the first round of decaff? <G> <dataman>

Agreed, but how many "bad days" do you get before someone cans you? In the real world - and that includes volunteer jobs - not many.

I don’t know twilith ... somewhere between 1 and Avogadro’s number? You are resilient and do not seem to suffer from “thin skin”. How about a thread “Vote for your favorite CA”? Just kidding of course. I would think we all have our bad days. How about that decaff or an olive branch? I’m buying. <dataman>

Re: I will fold for your username and team

You're right, I don't lose any sleep over it. It's just annoying to have someone always tacking a bullseye on your back. Which reminds me of a good joke.

Two lawyers are walking through the woods (don't ask) and they see a bear getting ready to charge them. One lawyer drops his briefcase and pulls out a pair of running shoes. The other lawyer says, 'what do you think you're doing, you're not going to be able to out run a bear, even with track shoes.' The first lawyer says, 'yeah, I know. But I don't have to be faster than the bear, I just have to be faster than you.'

The joke is apropos of nothing - no hidden meaning. Just thought it was worth passing along.

Thank you twilith ... I find it interesting that all of us posters to this thread managed to hijack the original post (which was SPAM and should have been deleted) into a "discussion". Decaff tomorrow for us all (G). <dataman>

If thats all it was I would be more than willing to forget it. Its nothing of the kind. Just part of a pattern that has been on going for some time.
