User Sync
I have about 40 of my members who want to have their own gallery, and I cannot sync the members or can they signup for an account, can you tell me how to get my members synced or how they can register for their own area in which they can share?

Re: User Sync
Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "sync"ing the users?! Maybe getting your Joomla! users into Phoca Gallery user manager? this is not necessary (and therefor not possible): the user manager shows only users which already have their own main category.
Please also read this: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload

That really isn't the problem that I am having, but thank you anyway.reko wrote:Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "sync"ing the users?! The problem that I am having that I don't see any users in the users control, and also if I want to up load a image, while signed in as a member, I get a error saying that there is no folder that was created for this user, meaning that the program doesn't know where to put the images? I also wouldn't mind if the member could show case his images in the site, for everyone to see. Is this possible.

Re: User Sync
as I said before: you'll see only those users who already created their main category (and folder) in the pg user control.
user create their folder/main category in front end user upload panel in the tab "main category",
see documentation:
user create their folder/main category in front end user upload panel in the tab "main category",
see documentation:
/rkMain Category
Here user can set and edit main category where the images can be uploaded or subcategories created.

Re: User Sync
Hello,
I don't know if I need to create a new topic or if I can continue in this one.
For now I continue in this one..
I run a website for our scoutinggroup and as such I've created a Category structure for the photos, like this:
- group 1
- - subgroup a
- - subgroup b
- - subgroup c
- group 2
- - subgroup a
- - subgroup b
- group 3
- - subgroup a
Now I want a new user to be able to create albums inside the subgroups and upload photos to those albums (even if he/she didn't create that album)
How can I achieve this?
Best regards,
Jeroen

Re: User Sync
Hi, did you read this:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload
In UCP users can upload to their categories only but in Category view, they can upload to all categories where they have rights to do.

Re: User Sync
Hello Jan,
Thank you for your response.
The thing is I don't want the users to have a personal category, I want them to be added to the phoca user list directly and there I can set the rights.
Is this possible as well?
Jeroen

Re: User Sync
Hi, Phoca Gallery does not have any user list, the user list is a Joomla! list, so not sure what do you exactly mean?

Re: User Sync
Hi Jeroen,
first: you make the subdirectories you need in the backend
second: define upload rights for each subdirectory individual, so select every user which should be able to upload to that directory
as far as i know it is not possible to make subdirectories in subdirectories in the frontend.

Re: User Sync
Hello Dutchpainter,
I've setup the subdirectories as followed:

Now I have two users (still in setup fase) in Joomla itself:

The second user (Tester) is not showing in phocagallery:

So I don't know what I'm doing wrong here but if the user is not showing I can't assign any categories to it!
According to the documentation of Phocagallery the user must first upload at least one photo to its own category/folder before he will become visible in the users view?!?
How can I achive the setup I want?
regards,
Jeroen
