Details Button Requires Login

I have set my downloads to be for registered only, due to my need for user details. That all works well...

But I have two issues to overcome to get the functionality I need.
1- When non-registered users click the Details button, they are forced to login in the modul pop up version. This does not function this way for the overlib detail function.
I assume it must be a setting, but I want non logged in users to see the details in the modul pop up. Any suggestions?

2- Users are forced to the login page to gain download. Good for my situation, and everything seems to work there.
But I rather send users directly to the register page though when unregistered users click Download, and not the login page. (most all of my users are first time visitors)
Any suggestions on a little code hack to get the non registered users redirected to the Register page, and not the login page when they click the Download button.?

1) then disable the displaying of details in modal
2) in this forum there are a lot of similar posts and solved guides for this, try to search them.
