Upgrade site Joomla! 1.5 to Joomla! 1.7. What to do?

Post by woodyf4u »

Hi,
I have Phoca Download running at my Joomla! 1.5 site.
Now I like to upgrade my site to Joomla! 1.7

Is there a step-by-step tutorial or a upgrade-script so I can use the Phoca Download data in my Joomla! 1.7 site?

Hi, for now I don't know any such script, the best way for now is to use the multiple add feature.

Jan, what I want to know is, is it possible to copy all the Phoca-extensionfiles and export the Phoca-database tables to the new Joomla! 1.6+ site.
E.g. the extension Acy Mailing can be moved to an other site (of upgrade to Joomla! 1.6+) by using this method.

Are the databases and files of Phoca so different, this method is impossible or are there options to use the same way?

Hi, in Joomla! 1.6/1.7 some new columns were added. Phoca extensions follow Joomla! rules, so there were a lot of modifications in columns - so this must be compoared and missing columns must be added.
