Assign User To Category

Can I set-up phoca download so that a specific user can view a specific category when they log in? So what I would do is create the user and assign them to the category, so when they login they see only the items in the category that they are assigned to.

Hi, yes, you can set access rights to the categories, so only users which have the access to the category, can see the files there (they can be displayed for other - public too, but after clicking on download button, the login form is displayed - can be set in parameters of the file - if the unaccessible file will be displayed or will be hidden)

Thanks I got the permissions working in the backend.

I guess there isn't a login link to download files, there's only a "User Upload" link. I was hoping that there is a menu link where the user has to login to download the file if the file is ONLY visible to registered users.

Is there a work around for this? Is there a phoca download login module that can be used - I looked but didn't see one. Thanks!!

Hi, the login behaviour is a Joomla! behaviour, so regarding login, everything is managed by Joomla! itself.
