fill the gap in front-end(freedom vs pretty appearance)

Post by navibd »

I created 16 section. and every section have different categories .(I mean for example section 1 have 1category and section 2 have 2 categories and section 3 have 3 categories .............section16 have 16 categories)
there is a gap between sections in front end.
in the front-end view there are 3 column. and if I have 3 section with 3 particular number categories,It looks great. but any change in number of categories in one of the section, create a gap between sections..
Is there any way(or any hack) to made phoca gallery to fill the gap automatically ?because its really annoying and limited me for creating categories.and I have No freedom....
I want both! freedom and pretty appearance together.

Hi, Phoca Download (and Phoca Gallery) both use MVC pattern, it means all views have own template (default.php) and this can be customized for the site. So you need to change the html output for the specified template.

components/com_phocadownload/view/sections/tmpl/default.php e.g.

Hi, I think, people are not ignoring you, but there is nobody who can solve your problems (in fact it is not possible if someone will see your problem, he/she will write here: "I am sorry, I cannot help you but you should know I am not ignoring you" :-(

Maybe the problem is so difficult that it must be solved with help of some freelancer (expert for Joomla!) but I don't know any such person, so maybe try to look at some freelancer portal and paste there some specific post.

 For us (users, developers or moderators it will be great to mark this post as solved, but for now really no better idea how to help you there  :( :(

I think I understand your problem...when you have many sections showing there are sometimes gaps between them like they dont butt up close to the section above.
The sections align at the top of a row so you should try to make each section contain the same amount of categories.
Or try to order them so each row has similar amount of categories in each.

Might also help if you posted a picture or a link so the problem can be seen.

Hi, this is not problem but the feature of html/css (float boxes).

You can edit the output in html template of phoca download sections view:

components/com_phocadwonload/views/sections/tmpl/default.php
