Wrong category link name

Post by lars.benner »

I installed Phoca Gallery today. Furthermore, I created some categories and added directories with photos as sub categories. Then I create a menu showing a list of categories. If click now on the menu, I get an over view of the sub categories. Until this point everything was working as expected. But if I now click on a display folder icon for showing a sub category, I see this error message:

1054 - Unknown column '9portraitfotos' in 'where clause' SQL=SELECT parent_id FROM jos25_categories WHERE id=9portraitfotos

The link, which was generated for this category is .../fotos/category/9-portraitfotos.

What really surprised me, is the fact that the error message mentions the ..._catergories table and not the phoca categories one.

Then I manually changed the URL of the from the one above to .../fotos/category/9, because 9 is the id of the category in the phoca categories table, and I got the images as I expected them.

So, has anybody an idea, why a wrong link for the category is generated in the first place?

Thanks,
- Lars

Hi, in Phoca Gallery, there is no sql query which ask Joomla! categories table, so this needs to be found in other extensions (template, module, plugin) which is loaded on the site togther with Phoca Gallery  Maybe this can be some SEF problem, do you get the same problem when you disable SEF in Joomla! global configuration?

Hi Jan,

I forgot to mention it. I tried it also after I disabled SEF, but I got the very same result.

But thanks for the hint with the other plugins. I'll try to figure out, which one has a side effect with Phoca Galllery.

PS Is there some way to debug Joomla. Might be easier for figuring out what is going on.

Hi, in global configuration, you can enable debug mode, but not sure if this will say you the information you need

So one debug technique is to disable all modules and all system plugins and switch template to some standard and load the gallery on that site - then you will know, it is not produced by module, system plugin or template (which is of course useful information as you then lower the area where to search)

Hi,

the template seems to be responsible for this error. After switching to the "beez3" template, the categories overview pages were working as expected. Now I least know, where to search next for the cause.

Thanks a lot,

Actaully, it wasn't the template. I have insalled another extension named "flexheader3". That extension caused the error message, and Jan actually your comment regarding the debug mode, helped me to figure that out.

Thank you very much, again,
