New categories don't show on frontend

Post by pslane »

I am moving this from another post that had a different thread subject.

I have 7 categories in my gallery. I've added 2 more and these new ones don't show on the frontend. One of them is already packed with images, but I hesitate to add images to the other one until I find out why they are not visible on the Gallery category page.

Now what could be different about these categories when all the others are showing? I have 7 categories showing and these 2 won't show. Hope you can help with this.

Thanks,
pslane

It's published and authorized and I can't find anything different about it than the other categories that are showing on the front end.
Anything else I could check?

Let's go over it one more time. I had no problem creating 7 Categories and they work just fine.
I added 2 more Categories just the same way. CATEGORIES/NEW/Filled in the box with title, alias, category name, save and close. No sign of the 2 new categories on the front end. There was NO error message. BTW I have been doing a lot of forum searches with no luck.

Thanks,

Dobrý den

Mám stejný problém kategorie se zobrazí v IE, Opeře, Chrome, jen Firefox je neukáže.
A to jak seznam kategorií tak i detail.
Joomla verze 2.5.22 , Phoca Gallery verze 3.2.8

good day

I have the same problem category appears in IE, Opera, Chrome, Firefox just does not show it.
A list of both categories and detail.
Joomla version 2.5.22, Phoca Gallery version 3.2.8

To check the code gets firefox empty div. In other browsers everything is fine.

: D error is found, and when I use JoomFish to set the primary language used firefox CZ EN and categories were created for the GB version is therefore not shown.
The reason why firefox did not take the system defaults to the CZ but their own to EN do not know. : idea:

I tried it with firefox, too and the menu items don't show there either. Don't know what I am going to do, now.

Thanks,

What should I do, Jan? Start over with a different gallery? I'm so frustrated.

Hmmm,

there can be more issues:
- if more languages are used, check if the categories and images include the right language
- check if the category is published
- check if the access rights are OK - e.g. if it is set to public and no user is selected for access rights
- check if the category is approved
