Slideshow bxSlider shows unauthorized images

Hi Guys,

Any idea on how to make the bxSlider slideshow module not show images before they are authorized? This is exactly how it works with "Phoca Gallery Image Module" and all galleries... And this is exactly how this should work. Unfortunately is doesn't work with bxSlider module.

I couldn't find any setting for that and I don't even think it exists - can somebody tell me what part of code should be changed (and how) to make it work this way? Unauthorized images shouldn't go online in any part of a website, right? Especially when it comes to main slideshow visible on the homepage...

Hi, just change the bxSlider php code and change the SQL query, add if clause to not load images when they are not approved.

I have added it to feature request list.

Anyway, you should create one specific category which will have specific image size and into such category no new images will be added, so it will not happen, that in bxSlider not authorized images will be displayed.


Change the:

Code: Select all

. ' WHERE a.published = 1'

to:

Code: Select all

. ' WHERE a.published = 1 AND a.approved = 1'

Thank you so much for your help - it works! Problem solved!

I know what you mean when you suggest that another category should be created and believe me - I was thinking the same way and I even tried that same solution!

The reason I did not go for that is because I really try to make as many options on the website work "automatically" without the need of me working on them... I expect more and more users to be registered in the next few months and it would be really difficult for me to keep selecting some new images, constantly upload them to another category etc. But anyway Jan - thank you for your big help and such a quick reply!

You really do a great job with the gallery as well as all other extensions and I truly appreciate it!
